Art Journal

ON MARCH 15TH, 2013 I STARTED A PROJECT IN WHICH I Do ONE DRAWING PER DAY ON MY PERSONAL ART DIARY. THIS IS STILL GOING STRONG TO THIS DAY

This has generated more than 3000 drawings (and counting) and allows me to explore different styles and drawing techniques I’ve admired through the years. The themes go from the highlight of the day to any story from my past, but the objective is to never go a day without sketching. Over the years I have experimented with different traditional mediums such as ballpoint pens, microns, colour pencils, and watercolour markers. This is a selection of some of the drawings that have a special meaning to me from each one of the diaries I have already fully completed, but before that…

2013-2015

Sketching and finishing details done with ballpoint pen on a Strathmore sketchbook

2015-2017

Sketching and finishing details done with ballpoint pen on a Canson sketchbook. By the end of this book I started exploring with five different colours of Micron pens.

2017-2020

Sketching done with ballpoint pen and finishing details done with Micron pens on a Canson sketchbook. In this book I decided to increase the amount of coloured pens used to 10, and also explored with watercolour markers. By the end this one I started using Prismacolor pencils (Arteza - box of 72) and a Pentel Sign Pen for inking
